The benefit of cloth hankies is that if you forget to remove one from your pocket prior to laundry you will not have a Kleenex catastrophe with paper bits throughout your clothes. My mom always had a hankie.
I have some of my grandmother’s hankies but stopped using hankies sometime after middle or high school, maybe when I moved out they didn’t come with me. I should clarify that we used those roughly one foot square paisley things that also got folded into a triangle and worn as a bandana while camping. I shudder to think of them going in the wash after a particularly bad cold. If I start up again they will get a presoak and rinse before being added to the gen pop laundry.

Antique stores often have beautiful hankies. I collect them!
I'm so thankful for all of your thoughts, shares and perspectives. Hankies included, thanks Susie! 😄

Ooh, not a dainty hanky in your house! Yes, I confess I still teach for the tissue for the Big Jobs. 😆
